JIA CHENG old-OE verification checklist
A practical worksheet for recording an old OE number, application evidence, supersession steps, supplied-scope checks and the review date.
This is an original JIA CHENG procurement worksheet supplied as a blank decision aid. It does not represent a customer case, test report or completed inspection record.
No verified JIA CHENG customer supersession case is presented. The page provides a blank worksheet; publish a completed chain only after catalogue evidence and application review are retained.
Key takeaways
- Start with the complete old OE number exactly as printed and record whether it came from the part, label, packaging, invoice or catalogue.
- Trace every verified step in the old-to-current chain and retain the source and review date for each relationship.
- Confirm the latest applicable reference against the complete model, serial range and installed component when the replacement is conditional.
- Keep supersession, fitment, supplied scope, availability and genuine-product status as separate checks.
Start with the old OE number and its source
JIA CHENG procurement practice : Copy the old OE number exactly as it appears. Do not remove leading zeros, letters, spaces, hyphens or suffixes. If the number is printed on a part or label, photograph the complete label and enough of the component to show where the reference came from.
Record whether the number came from the installed part, original packaging, a previous invoice, a service record, a technical catalogue or a third-party listing. A number physically connected to the installed part is stronger starting evidence than a reference copied from a similar forklift online. Model and serial information may still be required when the replacement depends on the actual truck. [1] [2]
| Verification status | What it means | Buyer action |
|---|---|---|
| Current / unchanged | The old number is still the active checked reference | Quote the same reference and record the review date |
| Direct supersession | Old OE A is explicitly replaced by OE B | Record both numbers and confirm the supplied scope |
| Multi-step chain | A was replaced by B and B was later replaced by C | Preserve the complete A → B → C chain |
| Conditional supersession | The replacement depends on model, serial range or configuration | Confirm the actual machine before selecting a branch |
| Scope change | The current supply is a kit or assembly rather than the former item | Compare every included and excluded component |
| Unresolved | No source-backed current reference has been confirmed | Request more evidence and do not invent a latest number |
Trace every step and confirm the application
If the old number leads to another reference, check whether that replacement is still current. A search that stops at the first link may return an intermediate number. Record the old, intermediate and latest verified applicable references in order, with the source and review date for each step.
Check whether the chain is universal or conditional. A branch may depend on the complete forklift model, serial range, market specification, installed engine, transmission, mast, controller or attachment. Trucks sharing a broad prefix can contain different configurations, and a transition-period or previously replaced component can change the correct path.
- Record every old, intermediate and current reference separately.
- Keep the technical source and review date for each link.
- Use the complete model and serial number when the chain branches.
- Use the installed component tag if the engine or another major unit has been replaced.
Check supplied scope and state the result clearly
A newer reference may change what is supplied. Compare the item name, quantity, mounting pattern, dimensions, voltage, connectors, ports and included seals, brackets or hardware. Distinguish a true superseding part from a recommended companion item, service kit or complete assembly.
The quotation should repeat the buyer's old OE number, the latest offered OE number, the verified application, the supplied scope, the verification status and the evidence date. Clearly mark any line that still requires a nameplate, component photo, measurement or serial confirmation.
- Show the buyer-supplied old OE and the latest offered OE together.
- State whether the result is confirmed, conditional or unresolved.
- List the contents when the replacement changes to a kit or assembly.
- Keep the application evidence and review date visible in the quote.
Separate supersession from fitment and product status
A verified old-to-new OE relationship answers the reference-status question. It does not automatically prove that the new reference fits every earlier application. Conditional replacements must still be checked against the actual model, serial range and installed configuration.
An OE number also does not prove that a physical item is genuine, original, new or available. Product origin and condition require separate evidence such as labels, packaging, supplier records and product photos. If that evidence is unavailable, describe the product without an unsupported authenticity claim.
JIA CHENG can use a complete old OE number to check available records and, when the evidence is sufficient, report the latest OE reference applicable to the supplied machine information. JIA CHENG is an independent supplier and is not an authorized distributor, dealer or representative of Toyota Material Handling or its affiliates.
- Supersession confirms a reference relationship.
- Application matching confirms whether the relationship covers the truck.
- Scope review confirms what is included in the supply.
- Product evidence supports brand, origin and condition claims.
Frequently asked questions
Can I start a search with only an old forklift OE number?
Yes. Send the complete old OE number exactly as printed and include a photo showing where it came from if possible. Model and serial information may be requested if the replacement chain is conditional or the number covered several applications.
Can JIA CHENG confirm the latest OE number from an old OE number?
When current technical evidence connects the old number to a replacement chain, JIA CHENG can report the latest OE reference applicable to the supplied machine information. If the chain branches or the evidence is incomplete, the result remains conditional until the required details are provided.
Does a superseded number always mean the new part is directly interchangeable?
No. The replacement may depend on model, serial range or configuration, and the supplied scope may have changed from an individual part to a kit or assembly. Check both the application and the contents.
Why do different websites show different latest OE numbers?
They may use records from different dates, markets or stages of the replacement chain. Some stop at an intermediate number or omit application conditions. Prefer a documented chain with a source and review date.
Does the latest OE number prove that the product is genuine?
No. An OE number identifies a reference. Genuine or original-product status requires separate evidence concerning the physical product, packaging, labels and sourcing.
What if the OE number came from a catalogue for a similar forklift?
Treat it as a candidate reference. Send the actual forklift's complete model, serial number, nameplate photo and relevant component tag so the application can be checked.
What if no verified current reference can be found?
Move to application identification using the complete model, serial, nameplate, component tags and old-part photos. If the evidence remains insufficient, keep the result unresolved rather than assigning an invented current number.
